Theatre has the power to educate, engage and incite a community to action. Louise uses interactive theatre techniques to help a community to investigate alternative approaches to difficult topics.
As one of the few female Executive Directors of colour in Southwestern Ontario, I knew I wanted Louise to be my Leadership Coach. She understands the significance of diversity dimensions, power and privilege. She is a community builder who works with you to dismantle oppressive systems. Her significant theoretical and practical knowledge in the field and nurturing attitude is invaluable and has helped me advance my leadership ability.Samantha Matty Executive Director, Victim Services of Sarnia-Lambton
As part of a system at my workplace, Louise walked us through some pretty tough conversations about value differentials, where we all left with a few significant new insights, lots of raw emotions, and a sense of connection as a whole. Alongside my partner, Louise was able to work with the two of us who are really quite analytical and skeptical, finding the right activities and conversation points to get us to the place we needed to connect on. As I am part of a queer relationship, I can also speak so highly to her inclusivity, her ability to adapt to the dynamics and challenges faced within a same-sex relationship.AnnaLise Trudell PhD, MA, Postdoctoral Fellow , Western University, Fanshawe College & @WeCLiClnd
Louise’s creative spirit opened up a space for us to explore our story, our passions and our commitment to the work we do. Louise’s ability to connect the right words and imagery together to tell our story was exactly what we needed. Louise has an ability to listen, ask the right question and communicate in rich and meaningful ways. We are so grateful for the work she did with us.Maria Sánchez-Keane Principal Consultant, Centre for Organizational Effectiveness
"Louise supported our group, using her facilitation skills and strong understanding of our work. We are pleased with her extensive awareness of services for women experiencing violence, and the many contexts that impact the work in our sector. Thank you, Louise, for helping us have these important conversations!"Nicole Pietsch Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres (OCRCC)
I worked with Louise as she steered an organization through a difficult restructuring process. As such, I was fortunate to see her brand of courageous, committed leadership first hand. You hear the word inspirational bandied about a lot these days, but it is rare to find a leader who can match bold and challenging vision with sincere empathy and the ability to meet people 'where they are.' Louise Pitre is such a leader, and these qualities make her uniquely suited to leadership and coaching roles.Jean-Paul Mouton Founder, Moutonco Ltd.
Louise facilitated a forum theatre exercise at the start of our two-day provincial forum. The experience for those who participated on stage, as well as for the audience watching, created a touchstone for all of the thinking and discussion that followed. There is something really powerful about using theatre and movement to surface the stories of life that can guide how we act in the world as individuals and as a community. Louise’s skill as a facilitator helped the group remember the shared values and individual passion that is needed to strengthen and unite our collective efforts in working together for social justice.Margaret Macpherson Consultant
I have worked with Louise in many capacities over the last 15 years and I can't say enough good things about her abilities as a coach and a leader. She has a wonderful ability to listen thoughtfully and respectfully to diverse perspectives, to quickly grasp the complexities, subtleties, and nuances of a situation, and to ask the questions that matter. Plus she does so in a way that gently encourages everyone in the group to think more deeply, consider alternative possibilities, and arrive at productive solutions. I am continually impressed with her remarkable ability to move people out of their comfort zones - without making them uncomfortable.Helene Berman Western University
