At the beginning of 2024, I piloted a program to help leaders and change makers strengthen their impact by reconnecting with and growing their personal power through embodied ways of learning. I combined two bodies of work: Julie Diamond’s Power Intelligence™ Framework and Arawana Hayashi’s Social Presencing Theatre. The program was a huge success! Participants appreciated how the playful space and facilitation created connection, safety, and trust to learn together while we explored how power lives in our bodies.
We’re living in chaotic and relentless times. How do we stay rooted in our sense of self? How do we stay connected to our source, and lead from a place of wholeness and integrity? Dancing with Power: An Embodied Path to Personal Power can help. I will be offering the program again in 2025 but this time with a few more embodied practices from Theatre of the Oppressed.
Dancing with Power: An Embodied Path to Personal Power brings together leaders and change makers to examine their personal power using Julie Diamond’s Power Intelligence™ Framework and Social Presencing Theatre (SPT), co-created by Arawana Hayashi sprinkled with tools from Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) By connecting to your embodied intelligence through SPT and TO practices, you deepen your awareness of how you embody your leadership power, what the impact might be on others, and what shifts you need to make to grow your personal power in more nurturing, life-giving ways.
Dancing With Power creates a space to teach and play with embodied ways of learning in community with others. By examining your leadership through the lens of using power well and consciously, exploring your sense of self, defining your inner compass, and bringing awareness to who you are when you’re challenged and what keeps you grounded and focused, you will transform your experience of leadership from powerless to powerful.
This program will be delivered via zoom on Wednesdays, starting February 5th, 2025, through March 5th, 2025, from 7:00 am to 9:30 am PT/10:00 am to 12:30 pm ET/4:00 pm to 6:30 pm CET. There will be 4 sessions, each 2.5 hours. We'll take a break half-way through the program, with no session scheduled on February 19th.
To effectively participate in the program and get the most out of it, you will need to have your video camera on. To increase people’s comfort, especially beginners with SPT, TO, and other embodied practices, the sessions will NOT be recorded.
